Our one piece belts in Louisiana Wild Alligator represent some of the most exclusive in modern leather craftsmanship. Each belt is handmade by specialized artisans with more than 40 years of experience with exotic skins.
Here you get an insight into how these unique belts are made – from wild alligator in the swamps around New Orleans to the finished luxury product.
Exotic skins of the highest quality
We work with some of the world's most sought-after and demanding leather materials. All belts are produced in genuine full hide, not laminates or surface treatments.
Materials include:
• Louisiana Wild Alligator
• Caiman Crocodile
• Nile Crocodile
• Ostrich
• Ostrich Egg
• Python
• Shark
• Lizard
Each skin is handpicked for pattern, strength and aesthetics. Tanning is done locally at the manufacturer to ensure quality, traceability and correct CITES documentation.
One piece Louisiana Wild Alligator – a rare and exclusive craft
This article specifically covers our one piece belts made from Louisiana Wild Alligator. All alligator skins we use come from wild alligators from the swamps around New Orleans, one of the world's most regulated and sustainable areas for alligator harvesting.
A one piece belt means the entire belt is made from one continuous piece of wild alligator hide, without seams or interruptions in the pattern. This requires:
• large, flawless hides
• precise pattern placement
• high-level craftsmanship
One piece belts are rare in the luxury market and are considered one of the most prestigious products in exotic leather craftsmanship.
Hand-glued to lining in Belgian cowhide
The alligator skin is hand-glued to a lining in Belgian cowhide, giving the belt a clean, seamless edge and a more exclusive finish. This construction provides:
• strength and stability
• natural flexibility
• an edge without visible stitching
• a more luxurious appearance than machine-stitched belts
This is a traditional and time-consuming technique performed only by experienced craftsmen.
This article covers one specific belt category
One piece Louisiana Wild Alligator is a distinct, exclusive belt series. Other models in our range may have different constructions, including both seamless and stitched-edge variants. This article describes only the production of one piece alligator.
25 manual operations – genuine craftsmanship from start to finish
A Bredal Wild belt undergoes around 25 manual operations before it is finished. Some of the most important steps include:
Cutting and pattern placement. The hide is cut by hand to ensure perfect symmetry and natural flow in the pattern.
Lining and structure Lining in Belgian cowhide gives the belt strength, flexibility and long life.
Edge finishing and polishing The edges are worked and polished by hand to give a smooth, luxurious finish.
Adjustment of holes and length Each belt is adjusted individually for optimal fit.
Handmade silver buckles
Belts can be delivered with handmade silver buckles, designed exclusively for Bredal Wild. These are produced in small series by skilled silversmiths and give the belt a unique and timeless expression.
Traceability and CITES expertise
As one of the few designers in the world I have personal experience with hunting, sourcing and documenting exotic skins. I have personally hunted 15 alligators in the USA and know the CITES regulations in detail.
All belts are delivered with correct documentation and traceability.
