What sets Bredal Wild apart from designer brands? | 16 years of exotic leather expertise
May 26, 2025
BREDAL Wildrepresents a category of its own within exotic fashion for men. With 16 years of experience as a designer and producer of exotic belts and sneakers, we combine authentic craftsmanship, documented traceability and deep material knowledge that very few players in the industry possess.
Exotic leathers from three continents– handpicked and traceable
All leather used in our products is sent to the production site in El Paso, Texas. Here leather from is handled:
• Asia
• Africa
• America
Many leathers are fully tanned in the exporting country, while others – such as alligator – are tanned at American Tanning & Leather in Atlanta or locally in El Paso. This ensures quality, traceability and proper documentation.
Proper tanning– a combination of tradition and quality
For belts we use:
• chrome-tanned exotic leather
• vegetable-tanned lining (ox or cow)
Vegetable-tanned lining makes it possible to emboss text and logos by moistening the area — a technique that only works on genuine, properly tanned leather.
Openness and honesty– a cornerstone of the industry
In exotic fashion there is a golden rule: The product must be labeled with the type of leather, place of production and logo.
This is crucial because:
• there is leather that can be embossed to imitate exotic skins
• it can be difficult for the customer to see the difference
• the price difference between genuine exotic leather and cowhide is enormous
• correct labeling shows seriousness and transparency
When information is missing, you do not know:
• where the leather comes from
• whether it was produced legally
• whether it was made under good working conditions
• whether child labor may have been involved
At BREDAL Wild this is never a question — everything is documented.
Expertise lacking in many luxury stores
Knowledge about exotic leathers varies enormously, even in exclusive stores in the USA, Dubai and Puerto Banus.
Since BREDAL Wild is only sold directly through me, you get:
• genuine professional knowledge
• correct information
• documented origin
• personal guidance
This is knowledge you do not get in traditional luxury stores.
CITES – legality, traceability and responsibility.
All reptiles and sharks require CITESdocumentation for export and import. CITES stands for Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
In Europe the following are required:
• import license
• copy of export CITES
• control by customs authorities
If the documentation is not correct, the shipment will be stopped and confiscated. This is necessary to prevent illegal trade and protect endangered species.
In Norway it isthe Norwegian Environment Agency in Trondheimthat handles CITES applications.
Craftsmanship, quality and integrity
Genuine handmade products have a high price because:
• the materials are expensive
• the handwork is time-consuming
• production requires specialized expertise
Some fashion producers charge extremely high prices for products that do not necessarily reflect craftsmanship or material cost. It is tempting to buy symbols — but symbols say little about quality.
Choosing genuine craftsmanship is about confidence in your own style. Those who understand quality see it. Those who know, know.
Why BREDAL Wild is different
• 16 years of experience with exotic leathers
• direct control over production and materials
• traceability and CITES expertise
• craftsmanship in El Paso, Texas
• tanning at leading tanneries
• full transparency in materials and origin
• no mass production
• personal guidance and expertise
This is not fashion. This is craftsmanship, tradition and integrity.
